Terms & Conditions

By downloading, installing, or using the KonnectED – Language Learning App, you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the app.

These terms apply to all users, including Tutors and Students. We may update these terms from time to time and will notify you of significant changes.

KonnectED offers two types of accounts:

• Tutor Account: For language tutors who offer teaching sessions. Requires name, timezone, native & target language, short bio, and topics. A profile photo may be uploaded.
• Student Account: For learners seeking sessions. Requires display name, timezone, interests, and short bio. A profile photo may be uploaded.

Both accounts use email + OTP (One-Time Password) for sign-in. You are responsible for keeping your email account secure.

You may delete your Student or Tutor account at any time using the in-app Delete Account feature. See Section 10 for full details.

Students may explore KonnectED as a guest without creating an account or signing in. From the welcome screen, Find a Tutor lets you browse the platform immediately.

What guests can do:

• View the list of published tutors and their public profile information
• View a tutor's open availability slots (dates and times)
• Optionally sign in at any time if you already have a student account

What requires sign-in (student account):

• Booking or confirming a tutoring session
• Viewing, managing, or cancelling your booked sessions
• Accessing student profile settings and account deletion
• Joining a live session

Become a Tutor always requires full registration, sign-in, and a tutor profile. Guest access applies to the student experience only.

• Tutors must set accurate availability slots including start time, end time, topic, and description.
• Tutors must be present and ready for sessions at their booked times.
• Tutors must conduct sessions professionally and respectfully.
• Tutors must not share personal contact information during sessions to bypass the platform.
• Tutors are responsible for the accuracy of their profile information (language skills, topics, bio).
• Tutors must ensure any profile photo uploaded is appropriate, accurate, and represents themselves only.

• Students must book sessions in good faith and attend at the scheduled time.
• Students must treat tutors with respect during all interactions.
• Students must not record sessions without the tutor's explicit consent.
• Students must not share or misuse session content.
• Students browsing as guests may view tutor availability without signing in; booking requires a signed-in student account.
• Students are responsible for checking tutor availability before booking.
• Students must ensure any profile photo uploaded is appropriate and represents themselves only.

Sessions on KonnectED follow these rules. You must be signed in as a student with a confirmed booking before you can join a live session.

• Sessions are 1-on-1 between a single tutor and a student.
• Sessions have three states: Upcoming, Current, and Past.
• Both tutor and student must enable location access to join a session. Location is stored only for verification purposes.
• When joining a live session, the app may send a device name (such as your device model) for session verification and support. It is stored with participation records for that session only.
• Camera and microphone access is required for video and audio communication.
• Either party can toggle camera or microphone on/off during the session.

KonnectED requests the following device permissions and collects the following data:

• Camera: Used only during live sessions for video communication.
• Microphone: Used only during live sessions for audio communication.
• Location: Requested when joining a session; stored in our database for session records only. Never shared with third parties.
• Device name: Optional label sent by the app when you join a live session (for example, device model). Stored with session participation records for verification and support; not used for advertising.
• Profile Photo: Uploaded by the user during account setup. Tutor photos are visible to students in the tutor listing; student photos are visible to their booked tutors. Photos are stored securely and never shared outside the app or used for advertising purposes.

The following are strictly prohibited on KonnectED:

• Harassment, bullying, or abusive behavior toward any user
• Sharing inappropriate, offensive, or illegal content during sessions
• Recording sessions without consent
• Attempting to circumvent the platform by arranging off-platform payments
• Creating fake accounts or misrepresenting your identity
• Uploading profile photos that are offensive, misleading, or do not represent the account holder
• Using the app for any unlawful purpose

KonnectED reserves the right to suspend or terminate any account at its sole discretion if a user violates these Terms & Conditions or engages in conduct harmful to other users or the platform.

Suspension or termination by KonnectED is separate from voluntary account deletion by you, which is described in Section 10.

You may permanently delete your KonnectED account from within the app at any time. Deletion is handled separately for Student and Tutor accounts.

To delete your account you must:

• Be signed in to the app with a valid access token
• Use the Delete Account option in your account settings
• Provide your Student ID or Tutor ID (whichever role you are deleting)
• Provide your device push notification token (FCM token)
• Provide a reason for deletion (minimum 5 characters)

Student account deletion removes your student profile, profile photo, bookings as a student, related session reports, and live-session participation records.

Tutor account deletion removes your tutor profile, profile photo, availability slots, bookings on your slots, and related live-session data. Students who had upcoming sessions with you will no longer see those sessions in the app.

If you hold both Student and Tutor roles, deleting one role does not automatically delete the other. You must delete each role separately if you wish to remove all of your data.

KonnectED provides the platform as-is. We are not responsible for:

• The quality or outcome of tutoring sessions
• Disputes between tutors and students
• Technical issues caused by the user's device or internet connection
• Any loss of data resulting from user error

To the maximum extent permitted by law, KonnectED shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use of the app.
